AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡功耗真可怕,峰值破400W

在小超哥拿到AMD Radeon Vega Frontier专业显卡之后,就马不停蹄地进行各种项目测试,试图在Vega专业卡中窥伺出关于Vega背后的一些不为人知的秘密,并且在昨天给大家带了最详细的拆解图赏《AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡图赏,能文能武的专业卡》。在后续功耗测试过程中,发现AMD Radeon Vega Frontier功耗确实有些可怕,在某个瞬间显卡功耗峰值可以突破400W,达到410W,并且存在8Pin外接供电口超过电源规范150W现象。
虽然AMD长期以来作为“电老虎”,并且有外媒报道AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡功耗爆表作为预防针,我们还是不太敢相信,AMD打磨多时的Vega架构显卡,居然在功耗控制上依然没有长足的进步。
我们测试的是AMD Radeon Vega Frontier风冷版,工作在Radeon Pro Mode(AMD专业显卡模式),3DMark FireStrike下运行频率在1440-1528MHz之间,达不到标称峰值1600MHz。待机状态是由功耗测试软件引导显卡进入待机模式,满载状态下是使用3DMark FireStrike压力测试,这是经过我们长期测试下来得出的结论,3DMark FireStrike压力测试最能体现出显卡的功耗表现,而且场景易于重复。至于测试工具,只要熟悉超能网显卡评测的网友们都知道,我们自行研发出一套精确度非常高的显卡功耗测试仪器,可以分别单独测试出显卡的PCI-E功耗、每一个外接供电接口功耗,以便查看是否超标取电问题。

满载功耗上,这一看到功耗曲线波动非常大,在前期维持一个比较高的平均功耗,峰值功耗已经飙到了410W。但是40秒以后,功耗就开始变得十分波动,在155-330W之间不停跳动,总体平均功耗也有269W。这个问题有点奇怪,由于GPU-Z 2.2.0采集不到Vega显卡温度数据,但推测前期较高的平均功耗是前期能维持一个较高的核心运行频率,之后由于功耗或者温度问题触发了BIOS的强制降频,功耗才会如此波动。
由于我们看到AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡时不时功耗就能触及330W水平线,就调出PCI-E、双8Pin外接供电取电数据。定睛一看,居然双8Pin有小幅度超标取电问题,根据电源供电规范,8Pin接口最大供电是150W(并不是说电源线不能超过150W,因为18AWG线最大供电瓦数是12V/16A/192W)。

其实AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡居然跑不满预估的300W功耗,着实令人诧异,有利于怀疑偏向游戏的3DMark测试不能压榨出AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡潜力,另外AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡频率也没有跑满Peak模式的1600MHz。后续我们会在游戏上继续测试AMD Radeon Vega Frontier显卡功耗问题,有疑问的小伙伴可以联系小超哥微信9501417,提出宝贵的测试意见。

迪兰恒进昨天在Facebook上预告了新一代“恶魔13”显卡,虽然官方没有提及具体型号,但是了解过恶魔13显卡的玩家都能看得出这应该是非公版R9 295X2显卡。现在新一代恶魔之王的真身也曝光了,一如既往的威武霸气路线,三风扇设计,供电尤为夸张,竟然是4个8pin供电接口。
