祥硕科技(ASMedia)是华硕的子公司,专门负责各类芯片的设计。威锋电子(VIA Labs)是威盛(VIA)的子公司,专注于控制器芯片的设计。今年COMPUTEX 2025上,祥硕科技和威锋电子都展出了自己的产品,并介绍了相关的开发情况。

据TomsHardware报道,祥硕科技和威锋电子表示,都在开发USB4 v2.0控制器,预计两年内发布。其中祥硕科技还在为AMD开发芯片组,而USB4 v2.0控制器计划在2026年末推出。威锋电子的进度要慢一些,打算在2027年推出。
即便祥硕科技和威锋电子发布了USB4 v2.0控制器,也不代表马上会被主板和笔记本电脑制造商采用。这些控制器还需要先通过USB-IF和PCI-SIG的认证程序,然后必须通过主板及PC制造商的认证,这些流程都需要时间。
USB-IF协会在2022年10月推出了USB4 v2.0规范,得益于PAM3信号编码机制的全新物理层架构,实现了最高80 Gbps(10GB/s)的数据传输速率。更新后,USB4的最大带宽将翻倍,让高性能显示器、存储和各种USB集线器/扩展坞受益。此外,USB-C及PD供电规范也得到了更新,已做好相关的配套工作。
USB4 v2.0规范完全兼容最新的DisplayPort 2.1,在不需要压缩的情况下,支持240Hz刷新率的4K显示器,并为其供电。USB4 v2.0还可以配置为非对称编码异步传输模式,意思是利用3Tx+1Rx的非对称模式,主机可以输出120 Gbps,从设备返回主机为40 Gbps,支持DisplayPort 2.0/2.1最高规格的UHBR20。
